Hidralia, awarded by the Junta de Andalucía with the 2020 Environmental Change Award for Climate Change for the creation of REDAC

The Andalusian government recognizes Hidralia's commitment to the defense, protection and dissemination of environmental values and its contribution to the Green Revolution

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development has awarded Hidralia the 2020 Environment Award in the Climate Change modality as a promoter of the Andalusian Network against Climate Change (REDAC), for having contributed throughout the last year in a notorious way in the conservation, protection and diffusion of the environmental values ​​of Andalusia.

REDAC is an open and participatory space aimed at promoting social awareness about the problem of climate change in accordance with the UN mandate through the 2030 Agenda. Promoted by Hidralia, and managed through the chair that this company has constituted with the University of Granada, REDAC has become a large network in which the member entities, which are already more than 550, can calculate their carbon footprint for free, exchange experiences, value projects and collect information on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, while promoting the establishment of business, institutional and public-private alliances.

With this award, the Ministry wants to value this effort and commitment and reward the entrepreneurial work of Andalusian society, encouraging companies, scientists, administrations, associations, foundations and also individuals, to play a very active role  in the Green Revolution and in the fight against climate change in Andalusia.

In addition to Hidralia, they have also awarded in this edition to the federation of irrigators, Feragua, for their Reutivar project, in which Aguas de Montilla also collaborates, a company owned by Hidralia and the town council. The rest of the winners have been the Diputación de Málaga, Algaenergy, Seville Port Authority, AAEF and Juan Calderón Rubiales.
