Hidralia renews nets in Roquetas with trenchless technology

This process minimizes work time and inconvenience to neighbors, passers-by and road traffic

The Municipality of Roquetas de Mar and the company Hidralia, responsible for the integral water cycle in the municipality, are undertaking the renovation of the sanitation network of Avenida de las Gaviotas as well as Miguel Induráin street, actions that are carried out in the face of the need to reform the current network of both roads in the face of the possibility of collapse because of its antiquity.

To this end, and as a result of Hidralia's commitment to innovation, trenchless technology will be used for the start-up of work, without the need to open the sidewalks for the placement of the new pipelines. This allows both to minimize the time of action and to significantly reduce the inconvenience that these works can cause to neighbors, passers-by, shops and road traffic.

The use of this technology, in a simplified way only requires an entry and exit point (in this case they will be wells or arches) and the old pipe serves as a guide to place the new renovated pipeline. In these works, the milling robot equipment, which allows the removal of roots, leftover concrete and the opening of onste, will also be used in advance to subsequently carry out the work of the network renewal.

Trenchless technology is rational and sustainable, less polluting and efficient, making it one of the techniques that is incorporated for the renewal of networks within the 'smart city' that seek through the digitization of processes, improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and make cities more resilient thanks to the improvement of their services.

In the case of Avenida de Las Gaviotas two sections of the network will be renewed, one of 42 meters and one of 32 meters, while in Miguel Induráin street will be reformed a total of 42 meters of this collector that has great importance because it assumes all the water of the Barrio de las Salinas, as well as the Polygon de la Algaida , as well as all the water that comes from the municipality of La Mojonera.
