The company takes a step further in its sustainability policy and reinforces its commitment to achieving the UN SDGs

Hidralia, an Andalusian company in the environment sector that manages the integral water cycle, has joined the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact (UN), the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, which currently involves more than 13,500 entities in more than 165 countries and 68 local networks.

With this accession Hidralia takes a step further in its sustainability policy and shows its commitment by aligning its operations with the ten principles universally accepted in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environment and anti-corruption, and taking action in support of the United Nations objectives currently embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It is precisely the company, within its Sustainable Development Strategy, that has the 'Rewater Global Plan', a roadmap that has been developed in a way that helps the achievement of the SDS and achieve compliance with the UN 2030 Agenda through firm and measurable commitments in different areas such as the fight against climate change , access to water and sanitation or the creation of partnerships as an engine to achieve the objectives of this united Nations-promoted agenda.

For Matilde Mancha, Director General of Hydralia, being part of the Spanish Network of the Global Compact means "strengthening Hidralia's commitment to become a sustainable service delivery model, based on people's development and criteria of economic, social and environmental responsibility".

Among his actions are the impulse of social pacts (in the towns where Hidralia operates) for the green reconstruction of cities; achieving carbon neutrality for this year through the actions taken to minimize and offset its footprint, progress towards maximum energy efficiency in its facilities and green energy generation; as well as the creation of initiatives such as REDAC (Andalusian Network Against Climate Change) an open and participatory forum of associations, companies and public administrations, aimed at promoting the social awareness of climate change and that already has the adherence of more than 550 companies and whose work has been recognized with the 2020 Environment Award of the Junta de Andalucía.
