Innovation, knowledge, and sustainability
to transform water management
The UGR+Hidralia Water Chair was created through a partnership between Hidralia and the University of Granada with a shared objective: to promote research, training, and dissemination related to sustainable water management.
Based at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, the Chair serves as a meeting point between academia and the professional world, fostering innovative solutions to the challenges of climate change, digitalization, and water governance.

The UGR+Hidralia Water Chair aims to generate a real impact by fostering the training of new professionals specializing in water management, promoting technological innovation and efficiency in the integrated water cycle, encouraging more participatory and transparent governance, and contributing to greater public awareness of the importance of water as an essential resource.
To achieve this, its activities are structured around several main areas:
- Research and Development: Projects focused on the efficient management of the entire water cycle, digitalization, and environmental sustainability.
- University Education: Support for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students through scholarships, internships, awards for undergraduate and master's theses, and specialized training activities.
- Dissemination and Awareness: Organization of conferences, seminars, and forums open to the public to disseminate scientific knowledge and promote a responsible water culture.
- Technology Transfer and Applied Innovation: Connecting university research with the real needs of cities and businesses, promoting advanced technological and management solutions.
