Hidralia is committed to sustainability and renewable energies in Estepona

The management company of the integral water cycle in the municipality has installed photovoltaic panels in three of its tanks with the aim of reducing their CO2 emissions and promoting energy self-consumption

The fight against climate change is one of the main axes on which the Sustainable Development strategy of Hidralia, the company in charge of managing the integral water cycle in Estepona, is based.

The installation of these plates in the Cancelada and Buenos Días deposits will mean an energy saving of 12,054 kWh/year and a reduction in CO2 emissions of 6.3 tons/year in each of them. The one at the Valle Romano 1 deposit, larger than the previous two, will reduce electricity consumption by 20,090 kWh/year and will prevent 10.4 tons of CO2 from being emitted per year.

In total, the three installations will mean an energy saving of 44,198 kWh/year, which will consume approximately 4.5 homes in a year, taking into account that their average consumption is 9,922 kWh/year. In addition, 23 tons of CO2 will cease to be emitted into the air in Estepona each year, notably improving its quality.

These measures adopted are in addition to others already taken previously, such as the five hybrid vehicles that the Estepona fleet has, and which reinforce Hidralia's position at the forefront in the fight against climate change. Its commitment to sustainability and renewable energies is a new step towards the green reconstruction of the Costa del Sol municipality.
